Who would have imagined a $100mill Megayacht is being built right here under our noses. Recently I had the pleasure of viewing this craft under currently under construction, the largest project of its kind ever undertaken in Australia discretely hidden inside a couple of enormous sheds on the Henderson waterfront. It’s a credit to Mark Stothard and his expert team at Echo Yachts. Above is an artists impression of the final product due to hit the water late 2017. Back to reality and the Australian recreational boat market. There are not too many buyers for $100mill motoryachts but plenty for smaller craft up to $2mill.
I stopped for five minutes last week to analyse my sales figures and found that, since November 2015 I had sold 18 boats to date – total value $5.5mill. I thought I was busy! This is my excuse for being a little tardy with my email blogs.
The recent demand for boats has also led to a huge shortage of listings on my books and there are still an abundance of buyers for certain brands and models – so don’t think holding off for spring to sell your boat will be an advantage. Get your boat on the market now. Remember, when September comes around, your boat will also be another six months older and there will also be far more competition!
